7 Easy Ways to Boost Traffic to Your WordPress Site

Have you ever struggled with getting people to go to your website? It can be very frustrating to see the money and effort put into building it goes down the drain. I know how it feels, and I definitely don’t want to see you struggle. That’s why I made a list of 7 ways to easily boost traffic to your WordPress site.

1. Speed it up

If you’ve ever been in a place without good internet, you know how frustrating it can be to wait for a website to load. You probably felt frustrated, bored, or even angry. This is why it’s super important to have a website that loads as fast as possible. Without a fast loading page, users can get frustrated easily and leave before they see any content. If you want to check how fast your page is loading, I recommend taking a look at Google PageSpeed test (link). It shows you exactly which areas your website is struggling in, and what plugins you can use to fix it.

2. Have Quality Content

Having quality content on your website may seem like a no-brainer, but it’s seriously undervalued. Quality content tends to market itself. People will be more inclined to share good content with their friends and family, and that leads to more traffic to your WordPress site. The type of good content you post depends largely on the type of website you have. For example, if you run a blog, you should make sure to proofread your articles and add plenty of images to your posts.

A lot of marketers are doing it for a reason…

3. Add Internal Links

An easy way you can boost traffic to your WordPress site is through internal links. Internal links are basically links that link to another page in your website. Most users will come to your webpage to find specific information. After they find it, they’ll leave your website. This is where internal links come in handy. They help to direct users to somewhere else on your website after they’re done. Internal links are a super-easy way to increase traffic to other parts of your website.

4. Have a Good Design

Have you ever seen a website so ugly you couldn’t help but laugh at it? Yeah, me too, and nobody likes those kinds of websites. If you don’t want your website to be laughed at, you need a good design. There are a couple of ways to go about getting a good design. The easiest way is to install a template off of the WordPress store. Alternatively, you can download one from a website. The way I would recommend is to hire someone to do it for you. It saves you time, energy, and you can get your website completely custom made.

5. Use SEO

SEO is what can determine whether people can see your website or not. SEO stands for Search Engine Optimization. As the name suggests, it means optimizing for search engines. By optimizing your website more, you can increase your ranking in search engines like Google and Bing. To optimize your WordPress website for search engines, you can download a helpful plugin like WordPress SEO by Yoast. It automatically takes care of the complicated things for you, and it helps you to optimize each page on your website.

SEO is super important!

6. Promote on Social Media

If you’re reading this, you’re probably using the internet. And what’s more synonymous with the internet than social media? Checking our social media accounts has become a daily thing for most of us. This is why promoting your website on social media can be a cheap and easy way to drive traffic to your WordPress site. At any time, you can notify the entire world that your website exists and that they can visit it.

I won’t go over how to make your social media accounts, but I will tell you how you can effectively tie them to your website. Make sure to add links to your social media pages somewhere, preferably in the footer. Also, editing your website’s meta description lets you customize your website’s preview on sites like Twitter. As mentioned before, WordPress SEO by Yoast can let you do this easily.

Use social media, it really helps your business

7. Improve the User Experience

User experience (UX) encompasses what users experience when they visit your website. It’s about what and how the users feel as they interact with your website. As you can imagine, bad user experience means users will feel frustrated and annoyed when they use a site. And you definitely don’t want people to feel this way!

Things like a proper navigation bar, good formatting, and a high-quality homepage can help to make people’s experience on your website more pleasant. WordPress has built-in visual text editor, so you can see what your users will see as you’re typing it. WordPress also has an option to generate a custom navigation bar. You can add as many links and as much text to it as you want. For your homepage, I recommend hiring a professional to do it for you. They can examine the overall theme of your website, and build a user-friendly homepage that reflects that.

Put some effort into your website’s UX
